i'm a traitor

this week, after several critiques, i woke up one morning and decided to give oils another go. why shouldn't i? for some reason, i had a loyalty issue. like i married into the watercolor mob and i was never allowed to look back. i have fought for my watercolor underdog and maybe to my detriment. so i bought some stretchers and today i gessoed my first canvas in almost three years. at first i felt like a cheating jerk. but then i realized that our little "falling out" was silly; i didn't have to choose. oils and i are getting reacquainted and in the meantime i still hang out with watercolors.

Hi Chelsea,
I just found your blog through Eva's blog. So good to hear that you're doing the MFA thing in LA. Probably a bit scary at this point, but CGU is a good school and LA is the place to be. Tell Grant that my gamer tag is Crentao.
Your work looks great! Do you have a website with more? If not, you should really get one. Maybe not until your final semester. My wife and I are in a group show at Roberts & Tilton I think for another week. If you get a chance, check it out. Her work is at amandamichellesmith.com . We got married in July. Anyways, good to see your blog.
